Czech centers are an institute of public diplomacy established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic .
Their main mission is to support the good name of the Czech Republic in the world and to strengthen cultural relations between countries. As a cultural institute, they are a member of the network of foreign European cultural institutes EUNIC . They present our country in a wide range of cultural and social areas : from art to creative industries to promoting the achievements of Czech science and innovation. They are dedicated to teaching Czech abroad . They engage in international projects and serve as a platform for the development of international cultural dialogue.
Currently, there are a total of 26 branches abroad on 4 continents . In addition to Czech centers, they also manage the Czech House in Belgrade, Bratislava, and Jerusalem.
Czech Center Cairo is the first Czech center on the African continent and also the first in the Arab world . It is led by director Tereza Svášková. The center's activities take place in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, where the center also has its formal seat.
Czech Center Cairo is a proud member of EUNIC Egypt, director Tereza Svášková has also been serving as a member of the Steering Committee of EUNIC Egypt since 2025.
