Czech painter Markéta Zlesáková spent three months on an artistic residency in Cairo, where her work focused on the visual language of Islamic art, Arabic calligraphy, and ornament. The residency resulted in the exhibition Dear Ramadan, presenting her works inspired by the city’s architecture, its spiritual atmosphere, and everyday life.
