As in the previous year, the Cairo Night of Literature 2025 once again brought together readings of contemporary authors from Czechia, Spain and Norway. The popular event returned to the historic Downtown district.
Three reading venues – The Factory, Rawabet Art Space and Access Art Space – all within walking distance in central Cairo, created a unique literary route through the city. Readings took place every hour from 7:00 PM, and admission was free to the public.
During the evening, three excerpts from works by contemporary European authors were presented by prominent figures of the Egyptian artistic scene. Audiences were introduced to books by Hana Andronikova (Heaven Has No Ground), Jan Grue (I Live a Life Like Yours), and Juan Jacinto Muñoz Rengel (The Hypochondriac Hitman). The event once again combined the atmosphere of distinctive venues with discussion of literary texts, offering an unusual cultural experience in the heart of Cairo.
The Night of Literature project has been organised by the network of Czech Centres since 2006.
The Cairo edition was held in cooperation with the Czech Centres and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Cairo, NORLA – Norwegian Literature Abroad, and the Cairo branch of Instituto Cervantes.
Partners of the event included Al Ismaelia for Real Estate Investment, Rawabet Art Space and Access Art Space.
