Three November evenings brought three unique workshops featuring artists working in the Czech Republic as part of the Cairo D-CAF – Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival. In addition to the Czech Centers, all events were supported by the Perform Czech.
WoW Feedback
The event was intended for everyone interested in learning about giving and receiving feedback.
Words of Wisdom (WoW) is a method of giving and receiving feedback that alleviates anxiety and removes the fear of expectations. The goal of the first seminar was to create an environment that allows for constructive feedback without fear and judgment. It was led by Zden Brungot Svíteková .
Practices of Empathy
The aim of the second workshop led by Alici Minar was to create tools that enable dialogue across generational, political, and moral differences, including through listening to personal stories or creating games aimed at building a sense of belonging that transcends differences.
The seminar called for mutual understanding and support through art and dance, in response to current political and social challenges. It is based on the long-term focus of the choreographer.
Collective Vocal Improvisation – Workshop
Thanks to the third workshop, participants could explore their body and voice as unique tools of artistic expression. Its goal was to help participants redefine their understanding of the concept of voice in a creative and innovative way. The workshop was led by Jena Jang .
