The Havlovské Dialogues took place for the first time in Egypt. At the public university Ajn Shams, the international conference titled The Power of Dialogue attracted the attention of students and academics.
In Cairo, for the first time in history, an international conference dedicated to the former Czech president Václav Havel and his legacy was held; the event was also part of the program during the Czech presidency in the EU Council.
In two parts of the conference, invited experts discussed topics such as the methods and limits of civic engagement and democratic dialogue, the influence of public opinion on political engagement, and the participation of young people in decision-making processes. The conference also included a rich accompanying program, including the announcement of the winners of the student competition for the best essays on the topic of dialogue and its power.
