The artistic residency Nature of Us connects art with environmental themes. Czech visual artist Šárka Zahálková and landscape engineer Vilém Řiháček will take part in the programme in Cairo and Alexandria, where their work explores the relationship between humans, nature, and landscape.
The residency will include two workshops focusing on nature protection and environmental awareness in both artistic practice and everyday life. The first workshop will take place in Cairo in cooperation with the organization VeryNile, while the second will be held at the Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria.
The Alexandrian event is also part of the long-term project Safe Spaces, which uses art to open discussions on themes such as the relationship between art and mental health, as well as social responsibility and sustainability.
Alongside Czech Centre Cairo, the residency Nature of Us is co-organized with the Bazaar Festival in Prague and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo.
