On 29 January 2026, a literary seminar with the Czech writer Tereza Boučková will take place in Cairo as part of Czech participation in the Cairo International Book Fair. The event follows recent appearances by other Czech authors at the fair and confirms the growing presence of contemporary Czech literature in Egypt.

The seminar will focus on the book Life Is Beautiful , which has recently been translated into Arabic, as well as on Tereza Boučková’s wider literary work. Boučková is the author of several award-winning books and has also written a number of successful screenplays for Czech cinema.

The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Amr Shatury, Professor of Czech Language at Ain Shams University and a leading translator of Czech literature into Arabic.
