Bára Zmeková & band brought to Alexandria a distinctive musical project that blends elements of folk, jazz, and classical music with subtle electronics.
As part of the Year of Czech Music in Egypt programme, Bára Zmeková (vocals, piano, synthesizers) performed together with her band (Pavel Šmíd – bass guitar, Viktor Dořičák – drums) at the Jesuit Cultural Center, which hosts the Alexandria segment of the SheArts Festival, dedicated to prominent female performers from around the world.
The concert in Alexandria was followed the next day by a performance in Cairo.
The event is part of the Year of Czech Music 2024 in Egypt programme and is supported by Czech Centres, the Arts and Theatre Institute, SoundCzech, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, and the Czech company SIGMA. The Czech Centre Cairo thanks all partners for their cooperation.
