FAMU at Animatex: Celebrating 80 Years of Czech Film Education
Czech animation returns to the Animatex festival — this year in a festive spirit.
In 2026, FAMU – the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague marks the 80th anniversary of its founding, and the celebrations symbolically extend all the way to Cairo.
On this occasion, Animatex presents a special screening programme featuring a curated selection of animated films from FAMU. The programme highlights FAMU as a long-standing space for free creative thinking, experimentation, and dialogue across generations of filmmakers.
The screening is part of Animatex’s out-of-competition programme and showcases the diversity, originality, and international reach of works by FAMU students and graduates.
