The exhibition presents 24 portraits of remarkable Czech and Egyptian women from various fields and historical periods, created by a new generation of illustrators.
The travelling exhibition Czech and Egyptian Heroines is part of a broader project introducing influential Czech and Egyptian women. The project was first presented at the Aswan International Women Film Festival, followed by exhibitions in Luxor, Cairo, and Alexandria, and is now also on display in Ismailia, a city located near the Suez Canal.
The opening of the exhibition in Ismailia was accompanied by a rich programme that allowed visitors to discover Czechia and its culture. The exhibition at Misr Public Library will be on view until 12 October.
The project is organized by Czech Centres, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, and the Faculty of Fine Arts of Helwan University.
