On the occasion of the fourth book meeting, readers were introduced to I Served the King of England by Czech writer Bohumil Hrabal.
The event aims to regularly guide Cairo-based readers through both classic and contemporary Czech literature. The fourth session was once again moderated by writer and journalist Nora Nagi. Participants immersed themselves in Hrabal’s celebrated novel.
Hrabal is renowned for his wit, distinctive narrative style, and ability to capture the essence of everyday life. His works often blend humor with absurdity while reflecting the complexity of human existence. Among his other notable works are Closely Watched Trains and Cutting It Short.
