The screening of the Czech film Buko took place as part of the Sunday Cinema programme, which is part of the rich cultural programme of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The 2022 film by director Alice Nellis follows the story of a widow, Jarmila, who gradually learns to live with a horse left to her by her late husband.
The screening was part of the long-term project Czech and Egyptian Heroines. In July, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted a stop of the travelling exhibition of the same name.
