The screening of the Czech film Buko took place at Misr Public Library Ismailia as part of the accompanying programme of the exhibition “Czech and Egyptian Heroines.”
The 2022 film by director Alice Nellis follows the story of a widow, Jarmila, who gradually forms a bond with a horse named Buko, left to her by her late husband.
The screening was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo and the Czech Centre in cooperation with Misr Public Library Ismailia as part of the accompanying programme to the exhibition “Czech and Egyptian Heroines” in Ismailia. The family film screening was intended especially for local schools.
